Meet Angela Blair
Angela Blair grew up in Los Angeles and was bitten by the travel bug at a young age, always dreaming of seeing the world. Leaving the States at 19, she did just that and remained outside of its borders for many years, traversing West Europe and Britain, East Asia, Mexico and Central America, West Africa, Israel, and parts of the South Pacific. She loves the intrigue of new places, people, culture, music, and food. The awe-inspiring beauty and the interconnectedness of the human experience astound her with its rich truth of shared pains and pleasures. The dichotomy of our unique individual nature and shared oneness is a wonder that never ceases to amaze her.
She has explored many parts of the U.S., has lived from New York City and Philadelphia to San Diego and Austin, and now resides in a small town in Oregon, where she lives a tranquil life, allowing her the peaceful and creative space to write and raise her two daughters. Angela practices gratitude and prayerful meditation each morning, which both grounds her and lifts her spirit. She enjoys the rich art scene in her town, swimming, long nature walks with her dog, DJing at the local radio station, concerts, and community. Raising her teenage girls is her primary joy, though it comes with trials and requires patience; the love they share is beyond measure.
Angela is working on a children’s book, Caw, Coo, Cock-a-Doodle-Doo, with a local artist, and has started her next novel exploring relationships across the gender identity spectrum. She aims to build bridges between mainstream society and those on its fringes to foster greater empathy and acceptance among human beings who she believes share more similarities than differences. Our commonality on an emotional and mental level is her focus, as we are all more spiritually intertwined than most people think. Sharing complex and intimate stories helps people know they aren't alone and encourages us to accept and love our whole, authentic, beautiful, and messy selves.
Angela Blair graduated from California State University, Northridge, with a degree in creative writing and religious studies. Her debut novel, Sun Kissed & Salted, is inspired by the complexity of people struggling with addiction and mental health challenges, her spiritual findings, and the infinite love of world travel.
